ARRIVAL DAY
Details: Our PT Cycling team will greet you with a smile and a snack in Oslo before transporting you to our hotel. It is a bit of a journey, but the beauty along the way will entertain and awe you as get a glimpse of just some to the landscape you'll be experiencing this week.
Our first night stay is at the Scandic Valdres hotel in Fagernes - the jewel of the Valdres Valley. We will dine at the hotel and delight our taste buds as we set the stage for the week of wilderness, beauty, and awe that is Norway! |
DAY TWO
Ride Description: Charge your batteries! You will be stopping to take pictures around every corner. Ride quiet roads surrounded by water and varying landscapes, and then reap the reward with a 20 km descent into the charming town of Øvre Årdal where the short route will finish.

DAY THREE
Ride Description: Head deeper into the mountains and get up close and personal with a glacier! You can choose to ride or partake in a kayaking and glacier adventure across the Styggevatnet lake instead, where we will pass towers of ice calved by the Austdalsbreen glacier before taking a closer look on foot and hiking on the glacier.

DAY FOUR
Ride Description: The spectacular palette of colours on this ride will leave you at a loss for words, from brilliant greens, to muted blues, every turn offers a completely different landscape. The one constant, the sound of waterfalls. This country will continue to amaze and prove that it is best experienced on two wheels. Riders interested in a shorter ride will be shuttled up the first climb.
Details: We will enjoy a cozy and inviting hotel as our end point at the Grotli Hotel. Enjoy each other's stories and a cocktail with the warm ambiance of a fire as backdrop at the hotel bar. |
DAY FIVE
Ride Description: Norway is known for its fjords and this ride will take us to one of the most famous, the Geiranger. We begin with a gentle climb up and over the Dalsnibba (opposite direction in this video), then roll through glacier views to ocean views. This may be the most diversely scenic ride you ever do.
Details: The Juvet Landscape Hotel, with its full walls of windows, will help you leave the world behind and become one with nature. Enjoy the comforts of one of Norway's most distinctive hotels. |
DAY SIX
Ride Description: Be sure to give yourself time to stop and enjoy the beauty of Trollstigen (opposite direction in this video), we encourage you to ride the 9 km climb in both directions as well! We will end the day in Molde, the first city on our cycling itinerary. Affectionately called the City of Roses, there are 222 mountain peaks that can be viewed from this fjord city and vistas to be enjoyed along our ride.
Details: Our last 2 nights will be at the Fjordhotell. Located on the waterfront, the views, sunsets, and reflections off the water are breathtaking. Dinner will be at a local restaurant. |
DAY SEVEN
Ride Description: Ride on mostly flat roads through farmlands and along the shores of the ocean. The piece-de-resistance is the Atlantic Ocean Road, an 8 km stretch of connected bridges that skip across the endless expanse of water and offer a new perspective of this beautiful country.
Details: Our final night will be full of celebrations and good eats as we toast our accomplishments, new friends, and the hospitality of this wonderful country. |
DEPARTURE DAY
Athletes can choose to fly out of Molde or enjoy a 7 hour drive with the PT Cycling team back to the Oslo airport. If you plan to fly out of Oslo, book your flights for August 31 or later; we can't guarantee your arrival time in to Oslo August 30 via the van.
